Where are the Skandashramams located?

On the day of Gandhi Jayanthi I was fortunate to visit Chennai Skandashramam at Selaiyur, Chennai. I would humbly ask everyone to pay a visit to this magnificent spiritual center so one can see a decent lot of rare hindu deities under one roof. The folks there say that Skandashramam is not exactly a temple. This makes me wonder is it a separate genre in itself. If so are there several Skandashramams? If so what are all the other places across Tamil Nadu, India or may across the world that Skandashramams are established ?
