Why do Christians teach their children that Santa Claus is real but the Flying Spaghetti Monster is not?

Children should know some basic truths about the nature of life. Instead of looking for stockings full of candy they should be told that they don't get desert til they clean off their plate. The FSM is good for kids and Santa is bad.
