Are Jews truly God's chosen people?

It seems odd to me that even though Jews are only 0.01% (15 million people out of 6.5 billion) of the world's population, they have over half of the world's Nobel Prizes, most of the world considers the Jewish prophets to be their prophets (Abraham, Isaac, David etc), they have always had great education and economic prosperity, all the best comedians are Jewish now and in the past (Marx bros, Seinfeld, John Stewart, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, etc) and in any other area you look into, this tiny population is able to thrive. Whether it is in academia, education, entertainment, science, medicine, business or anything, Jews are always in the top. Sometimes they are hated for their success but what other factor can explain this success. As a Christian who is told that these are God's chosen I can see this as a very obvious fact. Europe, USSR and the Arab States all simultaneously either expelled or killed their Jewish populations during WWII but still they survived. The Devil keeps trying to kill these people but God has other plans.
