So confused on what to do?

my partner of 4 years betrayed me by having an affair while he was working as a truk driver. He made me feel like it was my fault as i supposed to of made him feel unwanted ually i explained it is a bit hard to have a ual relationship when he is never home to have with. We did have a great relationship in the past & i was always there for him as support & when he wanted me i dropped everything for him. well i found out about the affair & threw him out, he left & went with the other woman. she has been in the truck with him since xmas.the last 3 weeks has been telling me how much he still loves me & has made a huge mistake & he can not stop thinking about me. he wants to come home. i still do love him so much & i am in tears most of the time over him. my question is has anyone been in the same situation & was able to make it work how where you able to. if you didnt take them back how long did it take for the heartache of it to ease.and you where able to move on.
